About Puzzle Sprout

Puzzle Sprout is a small collection of free puzzle generators with one rule: the useful version of a puzzle page is a clean sheet of paper, fast, without an account in the way.

How the puzzles are made

Every maze and word search on this site is generated by deterministic algorithms that run entirely in your browser - the same code that runs at build time to create each page's starter puzzle. A seed (just a number) drives the generator, so a seed plus a setting always recreates the identical puzzle. That is what makes share links possible: the puzzle lives in the URL, not on a server.

There is no backend, no database, and no account system. Pages are plain static files, so they load quickly, work offline after first load, and cost nothing to serve.

What you can do with the puzzles

• Print unlimited copies for home, classroom, tutoring, or care settings.
• Export PNG (2× resolution) or SVG (vector - scales to any paper size).
• Save a puzzle for later with its share link or seed number.
• Paste your own word lists into the word search generator.
